Watermelon Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plus 4 cups seeded and pureed watermelon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon grenadine (taste and add an additional tablespoon if desired)

Instructions

Combine 1/2 cup watermelon puree and the sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat. Transfer to a clean bowl, stir in the lime juice and zest, and refrigerate until cool, about 20 minutes.

Add 4 cups of fresh watermelon puree to the melon-lime mixture. Stir in the grenadine, taste and add more if desired. Freeze in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
