These are perfect for a fall get together, and handy when tailgating. Just double or triple the sauce recipe for the number of folks and oysters you’re grilling

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Lexington-Style Barbecue Sauce (Original Bone Suckin’ Sauce works well)
  • 48 single oysters, opened and left on the half shell (Try to get North Carolina oysters from “the crab flats”)

Instructions

Preheat the grill or start your charcoal.

In a small saucepan, melt butter and add garlic and barbecue sauce, whisking to combine. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Place oysters on the grill and quickly spoon some of the butter sauce into each shell. Close the lid and grill-roast for about 5 minutes, or until the oysters are to your liking. Remove to a platter and serve immediately.

Serves 4 as a main dish or 8 as an appetizer.
