Berry Compote

This cool summer dessert is a simple way to eat summer berries. Top with your favorite granola and a bit of creme fraîche, or spoon it over pound cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar, or to taste
  • Juice from one lemon
  • 3 cups mixed summer berries

Preparation

Stovetop: Combine and heat on medium high heat 3 to 4 minutes or until berries soften.

Grill: Combine and place in foil. Wrap foil folding tightly to completely seal. Place on medium hot grill for 3 to 4 minutes, remove and pour into a bowl to serve. Serve warm or at room temperature.
